Bringing the sport of Beach Tennis to the sand in Long Beach, CA!
Meetups, Tournaments, and Leagues weekly! Organized play in Belmont Shore on the sand @ La Verne Ave & Ocean Blvd, Horny Corner, and the grass at Marina Vista Park.
- Coed Doubles Matches (1 Guy 1 Gal Per Team)
- Men's and Women's Doubles
- Regulation net height is 5 ft. 6 3/4 inch
- Court is a standard beach volleyball court
- Official Beach Tennis Paddles only for league play
- Beach Tennis Paddle must be between 18 1/2 and 20 inches in length
- Ball is a slightly depressurized tennis ball (Penn T.I.P. 2)
Rules (Similar to those of regular tennis):
- Scoring 15(1)-30(2)-40(3) with no advantage; at 40-40 (deuce) next point(4) wins
- Lets are in play, as in beach volleyball
- One serve allowed per point
- Server must switch with partner after each set of the match
- Match 7 up set, Tiebreak at 6 all. E.g.: 7/6 wins set.
- The ball can NOT hit the sand. If so, the opposing team gets a point.
- Shots are good if they strike the line boundaries in any way
- Player's body and/or equipment may not touch the net or cross over or under, or the opposing team receives a point
- While serving, players must stay behind the base line, or it is considered a foot fault and the serving team will lose the point
- Only one hit is allowed to get the ball over the net; you may not pass the ball to your partner
